A healthy balanced school lunchbox should contain water and a variety of everyday foods from the core food groups for recess and lunch, including:
Grain foods to GO
Protein-rich foods to GROW
Vegetables to GLOW
Fruit for FIBRE
Many schools have Crunch n Sip time for students to ‘refuel’ on vegetables, salad and fruit and ‘rehydrate’ with water.
Some schools have a nut-free policy. Please check with you child's school or teacher to find out if nuts or other foods are banned.
